The 'Prenatal Checklist' has taken many shapes and has been around for a long time! Every midwife has one, and it is the lifeline for ensuring all the steps during a client's care is taken.

Midwives are pretty particular about their prenatal checklists. I have a special formula that you might appreciate. The checklist correlates with my book's chapters, Your Birth Journey: A Holistic Guide for Pregnancy. If you use the book, you are set. If you don't use the book, you are still set. All the topics are presented in an order that helps clients make decisions in a timely manner. For example, circumcision is listed early in pregnancy - not at the last second. Doulas, childbirth education, breastfeeding and support take an early lead in discussions. Information on newborn screening comes later. Lab reminders have their own separate category.
