Childbirth Education

Birth

Your journey starts with preparation

Studies show that parents who take a childbirth preparation class are more likely to have a vaginal birth than those who are not prepared. Families are not always sure what to expect when labor begins, and many birth myths have established fear and anxiety in our society. Birth Work Designs helps parents know what to expect during birth and builds confidence in the birthing process.

In-person classes are held in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Virtual classes are provided by Carolyn.

What People Say

Mallory
"Labor is called "labor" for a reason, and the course helped me prep for it! My birth was incredibly tough and very long, and I think that without the knowledge from the birth class and all the additional research that the class inspired, I would have been on my way to the hospital. The birth class helped me realize how important it was to be ready and fit enough to labor and birth in many different positions and to practice them beforehand. We used almost every position possible to help my baby get out! I'm also thankful that I learned I might need to be loud to get through labor. I was very loud but felt comfortable being as loud as I needed with the primal moans."
Cara
"This childbirth education workshop was invaluable for my husband and I. Carolyn created a safe space for new parents like ourselves to learn about all things childbirth together. It helped set the stage for our AMAZING birth experience!"
Elle
Class taught by Jeannette: “I couldn’t recommend Jeannette’s class more. We did not have a birthing doula but felt super prepared for all the different aspects and outcomes of labor and delivery. She really empowered us to have the hospital birth to our liking and on our terms. Our baby girl arrived recently and the birthing experience was positive largely due to what we learned from this course! Plus, Jeannette is a joy to be around and her teaching style makes all these big topics digestible. I liked the personal stories in Navigating Your Birth, especially as I got closer to delivery because that’s when I did get the book back out. I even took it to the hospital with me!"
